Am I SOL, with a column shifter problem?

Todd, finally got the chance to do mine and took a few picks with my phone but they really really suck, however after being in there I can say that if you watch the 2nd video above and go the 44 - 47 seconds on it there is a good view of the front rubber bushing area. There are two one further back also. Those appear to me to be the only area maintaining the steering rod and shifter. Possibly your problem could be the main 4 bolts holding everything together ChrisFix discusses early on in the video or these two bushing areas. Again sorry my pics didn't turn to be anything of any value.

kd4gij, thank you muchly man, got mine all straightened out. Still not sure what did it for sure. When I disassembled the column the front rubber bushing was just slightly askew. I cleaned everything up and remount the same bushing back in place, and waalaa I had low gear availability! But in my heavy-handedness guess what I did break? Yup that little dang plastic thumb-wheel assembly. Had it afro-engineered to hold the idicator in the correct position. Amazon Primed one that arrived today an was a quick 5 min replacement (even if my neck may be sore for the next 48 hours or so) and all is good again.
Thank you
Spent the afternoon replacing all the cooling and heating hoses and did a complete flush and fill with fresh propholyne glycol anti freeze. Will do all vacuum lines soon as they are the same age as the rest almost have this baby in the condition it came off the line in.

Great, didn't know if that kd4gij fellow had used some kinda magic that only I could see the video he posted. Hope that helps and you get it worked out. I know for me anyway little things that wouldn't bother some people make me nuttier than I already am!
