NP205 Transfer Case.

I am looking for a divorced NP205 for my 67 highboy. Are the 205's in the half tons different from the 205's in the 3/4 tons? I have found several of the married type with a NP435 attached but would rather stay with the divorced tcase. Any info is appreciated.

If you use the search feature I think you will find that the NP 205 divorced transfer case will bolt in to the Spicer 24 cross member. The 1/2 ton 4x4 trucks all were married style transmission / transfer case I think. I think that the 1975 and older 1/2 tons all had Spicer model 21 2 spds transfer case that are junk compared to a NP 205. I think that any divorced NP 205 from a 73 - 77.5 will work for you. You might check the dimension on your Spicer 24 from yoke to yoke to compare with a 205 to determine if drive shaft modification will be needed. I hope this information is useful.

F-100's had Dana 21 single speed in/out 4wd transfercases. Later F-100/150's had NP 205 2 speed transfer cases. 77.5+ F-250's had married NP-205 cases, and weren't highboys.

The 205 will bolt up same as with a f250 21 or 24 TFC the yokes will interchange if needed to change them out. Only one thing is different dana f205s TFC is the speedometer internal gear adapter. So you'll address that issue later to get a cable long enough reach it.. A good time to install poly cushions mounts also..

I know in late 77 the F250's went to a married tcase. And, I know the divorced NP205 is a direct bolt in in-place of my Dana24. I just didn't know if the 1/2 ton 205's were a match or not.

I offered the guy $600 for the truck. No motor, no bed, completely rotted out, no grill or hood. I guess his price is higher than mine.

Hold on, I offered $600 for the truck. The dana60 is still there and the disc brake front end is there and the NP435 as well as the Np205. I thought $600 was fair since he told me he only paid $300.
