I used 302 perches from a 1978 F100 along with new mount rubbers for a 78 to put this 4 Barrel Cleveland in my frame. Once I had everything lined up where it needed to be only the top holes lined up all of the lower holes had to be drilled out. The Fordification website has a tech article comparing perches.

 

What year frame is yours? That looks about where mine line up

 

It's a 1965. You also need to be sure you have the mount rubbers for a truck. I am pretty sure a least some of the rubber mounts for cars won't fit correctly in a truck.

 

Well my motor is sitting on the perchs but is crooked. Drivers side is back farther. I'm using 302 perchs and 79 f100 motor mounts. The perchs are in the top frame holes. What now?

 

Move that drivers side perch forward one hole. You may have to drill one of the top holes also. My truck came with a 460 in it and the PO probably had already drilled an extra hole in my frame. Actually they had drilled a bunch of holes in the cross member that I had to weld up.Somehow they had managed to get a 460 in the thing using FE perches.

 

Was your motor centered with the grill? Mine is centered with the trans tunnel in the cab. I guess that's all that matters?

 

The original 352 was set slightly to the passengers side. The original perches are different sizes with the drivers side being longer and the passengers side is shorter so it naturally sits toward the right a little bit. I assume this was to offset the weight of the steering gear. But, yes, it was not centered on the grille originally.

As I remember the engine offset is about 2" toward the passenger (right) side.

An interesting tidbit. On Slicks built for countries that drive on the "wrong side" of the road (think Australia), the engine and trans are still offset to the right side of the truck. Makes for really tight clearances for the steering, clutch and exhaust.
