Cylinder 5 misfire

Hello, I have a 2003 F-150 with the 4.6l v8. It has just over 150,000 miles on it. Today it started missing on cylinder 5. Had my mechanic put 8 new coils, plugs, and boots not 8500 miles ago when I got it. I was gonna start with replacing the coil and boot. Since it's just one I'm going to attempt this one myself. What tools and directions do I need to start? Thank you so much!

Cyl 5 is the first plug on the drivers side. You will need a 7 mm socket to remove the bolt holding the coil down. Remove bolt. Remove coil. Check for coolant in the cavity the the coil came out of. The manifolds are notorious for leaking around the thermostats housing. I would probably swap that coil with another to see if the problem moves. If it does then new coil is bad. If not pull plug and check if. You will need 5/8's spark plug socket to do that. LOL

Thanks guys. Gonna try swapping it out first, and see if that fixes the problem. I had several of the coils give me trouble on my last pickup(97 f150 5.4l) so I guess I should learn to change these if I want to keep driving these tritons lol

On my 2001 I changed out all the coils at 150K miles... Had a few new ones fail about one a year. Now I dont change them out wholesale....... I wait till one fails, and replace it

Update:
Got the new coil in and runs like a charm.
So I took a chance and ordered a $6 coil and boot off eBay. Anyways took my time and put it in. Maybe 15 minutes total(I'm definitely not a mechanic lol.) unbolted one support and swapped the new and old coil. No more miss. Really appreciate all of y'alls help.

Glad you got it fixed. #5 is the easy one, so you got lucky.
Actually #1, 2, 5 and 6 are all pretty easy, I found #7 to be the worst (fuel pressure regulator right over the bolt for the COP).

Looking at the cylinder diagram I knew I was lucky. Will just have to see which one goes on me next and hope it's not one of the back ones lol.
