I changed my spark plugs now I got a miss and rough idle .#2 and 6 seem to be the ones that miss the idle don't change when I unplug the coil , I take coil off and put it next to the motor it sparks ! I put everything 3 plugs and got about 200 miles on them and 3 out of 8 had melt downs and left me on the side of the hwy. I got autolights in it now but it got a miss and rough idle ! Did I not do something right ? Hit me back if anyone has fix for me

 

Take the autolites out and run the Motorcraft SP-515 plugs. Then make sure that the COPs are pushed all the way down onto the plugs and are making a good contact, as well as using dielectric grease.

 

Definitely use the motorcraft plugs. also, make sure you didn't cross plugs on the wire harness, ive seen something as simple as that happen before.

 

I just bought my 2006 F150 5.4XLT 4x4 about 3 week ago my check engine come on I had it serviced still have light. I put in new motor craft plugs and new cam shaft sensor on bank 2 .still have light, Code reader says it cam shaft sensor on bank 2 but it is new runs pretty good
but misses a little. Any help Thanks

 

did they clear the code after the repairs ? It don't turn itself off.. Have the guy with a code reader clear it, or lift the battery cable, wait a few minutes and reinstall and it will clear.

 

Mine did that the wire to the cam sensor was broke would not read it ,I changed both cam sensor and the crank sensor .
Took it to a mech, he found the bad wire has not done it since.

 

When I did my plugs I did the COPS too. I would suggest doing those on the cylinders its miss firing on and see if it fixes it.

 

Bank 2 is the Driver's side. Is that the side you put the cam sensor on?
