If the tie rod end is actually installed upside down, granted I don't have an 03 to compare it to, the inner tie rod could have easily overextended upwards and broken.

Hope I'm not seeing things wrong that aren't, good luck getting the truck back on the road again!

In the blown up picture that twigsV10 posted, you can kinda see what may be a shadow of the tie rod not on the bottom instead of the top. If the tie rod was installed this way, the taper would be backwards; it could feel tight when trying to move it by hand, but move when going down the road.

I too played with shadows and highlights and found this...the red arrow appears to be pointing at the tie rod end.

Nice catch! That does look like the tie rod and it is not near parallel with the lower control arm. Between the goofed steering geometry and the backwards taper, it's no wonder the truck wanders all over the road.

alloro, You did a much better job of enhancing the picture.... I didn't really think of doing that it just sort of happens naturally in my head without messing with any settings . It also appears from your picture it's a 2wd truck, the front end appears to be the same otherwise but I have no experience with them.

I hope that's all that's wrong, flip the tie rods over and realign the front end and hopefully the truck will be back on the road good as new!

I hope Iberia reports back with what he found and if this helped or less preferably I started a wild goose chase....

Thank you so much guys, I cannot thank you enough, I have been struggling with this since.. I don't even remember now, maybe a year, that's it, you are a genius twigsv10, I will correct them tomorrow morning, and take it get aligned again, thank you so much..
for now the power steering died on me, and maybe because of this, who knows, I'm also replacing all Coils because it is throwing a code about 2 cylinders misfiring, thank you again, I will keep you all posted..
