Highest original IDI motor ever ? seen still going

My biggest problem with a Dodge is not the engine, but the truck that surrounds it, I have lots of experience with gens 1-3.
Service wise an IDI is easier to deal with. Valve adjustments are necessary on a Cummins, on an IDI they are not. My truck is on its 5th transmission that I know of, and I only know its history back to 02.
IDI vs PSD, the IDI is just simpler. I really haven't had any reliability issues with my PSD's, but when they do need parts they cost more.

jUST TALKINg TO PEOPLE WhO HAvE OWNED THE 1ST GEN psd the feed back is great. The only people I have heard complain were the ones who did not have 2 or 3 grand to fix them when they needed electronics and injectors.

fuel lines, brake lines, brakes and calipers, batteries, 1 alternator, glow plug relay. ya know, normal maintenance stuff.
i will be needing a starter soon, buy that will have to be sent out to the rebuilder for replacing because i can not get under the truck with my leg being freshly rebuilt.

injectors are only $600-$700 if done properly. mine are going to rosewood for reconditioning. there is no reason to spend $400 each for new injectors when Jim can rebuild them for about the price of 2 new ones.

Ive had an ecu fail, and have seen one other, both trucks were 96's. I never took it apart to see what was wrong but from what I have seen it was most likley something repairable like a capacitor failure.
My 96 F250 has nearly 30,000 hours on it and I may be putting that engine into my 350 as the 350 seems to have some mechanical issues, that I have yet to diagnose properly, but seem to be compression related, possibly ether related as the glows were disconnected when I got it.

I had a 90' dodge cummins auto, then a 98.5 24 valve auto 4x4. We moved cross country from Texas, up to North Idaho. The shock I had was the 90' pulled a trailer harder, and better than the 24 valve. The 24 valve would heat up on grades, really lug down, and a lot more; just sucked, where as the 90 was slick.
On that note, at the time we had our 7.3 N/A extended van loaded full, and heavy, it kept up with both, and had zero issues.
What I took out of the whole affair, which with several trips, both older engines with lower ratings, ran down the road far better than the newer crap.
I had no regrets of getting rid of the 24 valve cummins, some regrets when I got rid of the 12 valve, but From there, and in the present, when I was out truck hunting, I went with the idi.
Main reason was, I knew it was a good engine, and as has been stated in this thread, I can get into a good rig, for about 1/3 of what a worn out 1st gen cummins would cost.

Why are the IDI's so much cheaper than a Cummins ? what is all that I hear about a HPOP on the PS ?
I was also reading a thread for no start on the PS and it seemed like there were way more reasons you could have a no start issue over a IDI.
I am not really interested in the PS, it's just that I have let several go that were deals and admire the engine for the fact they seem to be able to go as long as any diesel ever made before needing rebuilt ?

because everyone and their brother knows for a fact that the gold plated cummings will run for 3 million miles while making 5000 hp and getting 65 MPG.
and the ford 6.9 and 7.3 IDI is a slower than a snail slug that only makes 125 hp if it is lucky, only gets 7 mpg, and blows up before it hits 100,000 miles

most of the time is is from poor maintenance, not the engines fault.
