Painted grill

You don't want the xl grill as it is textured. You want the black paint to match grill from a King Ranch. They are available on ebay or at your local dealership.

I checked 1st my Dealer, priced too high, ebay 2nd and a search online for Ford Part Dealers. Sorry but I don't recall the Ford Parts Dealer I purchased the unpainted grill surround from but the price was a little under the ebay listing but not by much.
Ford body shop painted my grill surround to a perfect color match and installed it, then I added the highlighted super duty letters front and the rear tailgate.

You want to be sure to get the ready to paint primed grill, they have a special plastic primer. When I had to replace my door handle this month because some jerk punched out the lock it bought a primed handle and had NAPA mix some paint and put it in a spray can, they also had clear with hardener in spray cans. The color match was good and the clear had a great finish that appears to be very durable.

Good point. Even though they use paint codes that only gets them so far. They have several blends of each paint code and will use the correct one to match the paint on your truck.

So you could paint any of the plastic pieces also? I'd like to get the horizontal bars painted on mine once I order it. I think there is way too much chrome on the front end.
Or get the Platinum grille bars and paint those too? I think that would look really good.
