1997

Starts off starting fluid and will only stay running at 1800-2000 rpm or higher. Will not idle. Runs all day long at 1800-2000 and above.

Just swapped all my performance parts from my other pickup (1994.5) to this one (1997). This includes stealth hpop, ipr, glow plugs, gpr, uvch, injectors from Jim,bellowed up pipes, down pipe and turbo.

Cleaned the ebv valve and I know I went to far and puncherd the diaphragm. I unplugged it and still no start.

Replace the fuel pump, same thing. I also tried 4 different cps, two used and 2 new. Rpms read about 200 while cranking. Wait to start light comes on.

Oil in oil pan is full, forgot to check hpop res for you guys. Half tank of fuel. Fuel bowl refills after drained. Reads oil pressure on the dash gauge witch I know is just a dummy gauge saying either I have oil pressure or I don't.

Did it start doing this before or after you swapped all those parts over?

Good catch! The HPOP is different between a '97 truck and a 94.5- 95 truck. If you swapped it over and then saw this issue start, that could be your cause.

Nick I tried to rep you, but got no love...

The problem started after I swapped it all over.

I did not replace the o rings. Cuz they only have like 1000 miles on them. I have resused them before with no problems. Not saying it isn't the problem this time.

I left the ipr in the hpop when I swapped it.

I thought guys were swapping hpop's from the super dutys. What's the difference?

The superduty pumps will not work on the 94 motor. The 96-03 blocks have a check valve in them to keep the hpop oil from going back to the case. The 94-95 has it built in the pump. In all honesty I don't know if it won't work going from early to late but I do know you can't go from late to early. Also the hpop gasket is different early to late
