Throttle & Kickdown Bracket -which are you using?

I am getting to the little details that really slow you down for instance the water pump outlet is 2" dia and the radiator is 1 3/4 etc, things that make you shake your head. So I have an edlebrock 4150 Carb and the C6 trans, and need a throttle and kick down bracket for the throttle cable and & trans kick down cable, Lokar has a few variations, but they are pricey but if needed as the only option be I'd buy it, has anyone had any luck or know of any others? I've checked summitt, Jegs etc. and only Lokar appears to have one exactly for the specific application I need. Just checking with you guys before I pull the trigger on a $80. bracket that should be about $20.

Lokar tends to make good products to solve an otherwise real PITA problem. It often comes down to what is your time worth? With non-stock parts involved it can be time consuming to monkey around with a trans kickdown. Getting it to function and not hit the firewall etc. I don't recall what the stock C6 config looks like (does it use a tube style linkage?). A cable and bracket setup is probably going to be far easier with the trans tight to the firewall and floor.

Have you found a radiator hose that steps down or are you looking at a new outlet on the radiator? Switching waterpumps may open a can of worms unless you have them side by side to see if they will work before you purchase. (i.e. solve the hose diameter and throw your brackets off in the process).

Hang in there. I remember this part well and it took a while to get it all solved.

I started will the 20 dollar or lesser priced unit and changed to Lokar. The Lokar is better quality and the cable itself is a larger diameter. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Below is what I used and what I used it on.

carburetor- Holley 4 barrel 600 CFM
carb linkage- Lokar DP-1000HT
transmission- C6
Trans kick-down- Lokar KD-20C6HT

(water pump outlet is 2" dia and the radiator is 1 3/4) Suggestion cut a bushing out a piece of 1 3/4 hose to fit inside the 2" hose at the radiator.

Not sure where you are getting the "should be about $20" figure but maybe you should take a second look at what you are getting with the Lokar kit. As fatfenders has said, you are buying an out-of-the box solution for a real PITA problem, not a time to go cheap. I just finished a 351W/AOD build and used the Lokar TV kit, the Lokar throttle cable, and the Lokar shifter kit...not cheap but those are all parts that I will NEVER have to worry about again. Stainless steel and built to last. BTW - on my project I found that the Edelbrock carb was really not setup optimally for the TV cable hookup...I also had to buy a Sonnax geometry corrector (a small plate that was over $20). YouTube has many videos on this topic, here is one that I found helpful

Ok, so I went Lokar part # tcb-40DQ & KD-20c6HT, now for figuring out my radiator hose issues. That for the help, always can count on you guys for great advice! (They do have $29. bracket also.)
