Speaking of door locks...

I saw the other thread about door locks and it reminded me about my issue.

My rear passenger door lock doesn't completely unlock most of the time. I'll hit the button either on the remote or on the doors, and all the doors unlock...and the rear passenger door will want to unlock, but it doesn't. It's like something is stuck or blocking it from unlocking.

If I flip the button a couple times from the driver door to make all the doors lock/unlock, then the rear passenger door will unlock.

Or I can climb into the back seat and just flip the lock from there to make it unlock, but that's a bit of a reach.

Any thoughts? I think I just need to take the door apart and see if anything's in the way...

Weak or worn lock solenoid.....lock mechanism binding or dirty....maybe just some graphite dry lube will fix it.

Does it make a strange noise those times when it does lock? It's not uncommon for these to start making a higher pitch noise when the lock solenoids are starting to fail.

Thanks guys...

shorod: no, I haven't heard any unusual noise coming from it when locking or unlocking. It sounds normal as far as I can tell, and I can see the lock switch on the door itself WANT to move but it doesn't.

I tend to agree with AzPete. The solenoids will get weak with age. but, when you pull the door panels, try the graphite first. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
My problem with mine is the key will turn every lock on the vehicle except the drivers door
Anyone else have that happen?
