bad..bad..bad blowby

I installed a road draft tube for now on my 6.9 because the CDR is shot.. rubber diaphragm is gone, and there is a lot of oil in the intake..

the engine has horrible blowby, burns oil and makes a "hammering"/loud sharp knock noise from the right bank, cyl #1..I already have a reman engine waiting for this truck just haven't been able to get it swapped yet..the truck still has a few more things to do.. I will rip into this engine to find out what is wrong when I get it out..

here are some pics of the blowby coming out of the oil fill, and the puddle of oil under the road draft tube after just 5, yes 5 minutes of idling..

The CDR valves are available. This is one of the first links,

6 9L 7 3L IDI Diesel Genuine Ford Crankcase Ventilation CDR Valve F250 F350 | eBay

The knock may just be a bad injector.

I encourage you to get this fixed so that the oil is kept off the streets and out of the rivers.

will do when I install the new engine..

the engine does seem to run better with the road draft tube, but the huge smoke cloud billowing out from under the truck stinks badly..and while sitting at red lights is quite embarrassing....at least no one stopped next to my truck, and they stayed waaay back instead of stopping on my rear bumper.. probably thought the truck was on fire...

With the design of the ring IHI used, it is quite normal to have a blowby like this, that is why they used CDR. Anyway my truck will get a rings which I will gap like cummins engines. I am not a big fan of gapless rings, but the ring gap IHI made is ridiculous.
