I lowered my transmission onto an old tire and some boards.
Yes there are just 4 bolts holding it on. I did remove the flywheel cover off the bottom, but that't not necessary.



Looking at my pictures, I removed the transmission with the bell housing still attached. I'm not sure which would be easier though. You are going to want to remove the bell housing any way to check the clutch.

You might need to shake/rock the transmission to get the input shaft out of the clutch. You really have the hard part done with the power train removed.
