97 F250 Dana 60 swap
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. Most of my questions regarding the swap has been answered reading the forums as a guest. My only two questions regarding the swap are:
1. Am I able to reuse the wheel bearings, rotors, and hubs from my F250 TTB front end? I had to put some money in it over the winter, smoked a hub and wheel bearing. If possible I'd like to reuse these parts since they are less than a year old.
2. Can I reuse the pitman arm from my F250, or do I need to take one off a F350 to get the steering to work?
I am going to be doing the swap within the next few weeks. I just need to rebuild the Dana 60 I have, and repaint it and I'll be ready to put it in. Thank you everyone in advance for the help!

If your donor D60 is a '95 or newer then the spindle, bearings, seals, hub, rotor, caliper mounting brackets and calipers swap over. If '94 or older the calipers and caliper mounting brackets will not swap.
The manual locks for the hubs are interchangeable between the D50 and D60.
The D50 and D60 knuckles are not interchangeable.
Did you get the U-bolt bracket for the driver's side?
And the track bar bracket and track bar? Are you going to lift it? You may want to buy an adjustable track bar and a drop bracket.
Yes you can use the F250 pitman arm but you will not get the improved steering radius of the D60 and the steering will feel sloppy as the steering wheel will need to turn a lot for a little tire movement. Use the D50 pitman arm only temporarily if you must until you get the F350 pitman arm. Are going to lift it? You may need a drop pitman arm...research so you only buy one.
You need all D60 tie rod steering link pieces, the D50 is different and not as strong.

Thank you. Luckily I found a rotted 97 parts truck for cheap, so I have all the needed parts to my disposal. The only thing I need to buy yet is u-bolts. Already bought all the steering links, ball joints, u-joints etc. As for lifting the truck, idk yet. I was originally going to put the plow on that came with the parts truck, but needs more work than it's worth to me. I might lift it in a year or two. First priorities are the axle swap, paint the frame and body, get rid of that stupid stack, and replace the nasty old blue interior with grey.

Some F-250s used a Dana 44HD front axle. Those locking hubs (and likely many / all other parts) are not interchangeable with a Dana 50 TTB or a Dana 60. So make use you',e got a Dana 50 before you try swapping to a Dana 60.
Every time someone gives a hard and fast rule about when Ford used a Dana 50 and when they used a Dana 44HD someone else will come up with a truck that refutes it. So my personal opinion is that you simply can't say for sure what an F-250 will have, you just need to see what it does have.
