What is this on my new SD?

So I have these two tabs or loops that look like spacers between the back window and the cab. What are they? I haven't seen them on any other truck.

They are there to hold the glass up while the sealant dries. They are supposed to be removed before delivery to the customer.

You can pull them out and toss them.

Yep, part of the assembly line process. You should be able to twist them out.

Auto workers keep leaving these on does that mean we get Union pay for removing them? Or does the Union fill a grievance?

Should be good for an extra $50 off "out the door" at the sales manglers desk.

I was thinking it was a spacer but didn't want to just yank it if it was going to cause a leak.

What is this on my new SD?

That is a pretty obvious part and kind of surprising that so many people from production all the way to the dealers let it slip.

Could of been sent to repair for bad window, or any number of things. In this situation it had already went through QC and to the shop. It doesn't go back to QC and then goes to convoy lot. The dealer should of seen the repair sheet as well as the prep person who readied the truck. Who knows, the dealer may have made the repair?

It's not a repair, it's put on at production.

Dealers miss this so often that Ford issued a broadcast message about it. Still goes ignored.

Just pull it out. My 15 also had those tabs in there when I went to pick it up. The dealer missed it during PDI.

Ha ha I just checked my f350 that's almost a year old. One plastic spacer was still there. I removed it. It would have fallen out soon. I had a truck cap put on the same day I got the truck so I didn't notice it.
