No Radio or Power Windows

Hey guys, new to the forum. I have a 2004 F250.

Owned it for a little less than 4 miles (186k on the odometer)

The other day making a routine run and the radio goes out. Stopped to check it out and found I had no power windows either.

Made it home, checked the fuse on the radio and its good and the the power window fuse is also good. Put a meter on the terminals and have no voltage going to them.

WTF???? LOL!!!! This happen to anyone before or anyone know what I need to look at???

Much appreciated.

Luis

Time to pull up a schematic. The most important thing is checking power and ground. With the ignition on did you try jiggling the key? Had a festiva with a loose ignition and the wipers and radio would randomly go out if the key wasn't perfect

Sounds like a possible issue with the power saver relay in your instrument cluster. Are all you gauges working properly?

Look at your fuse chart again- there's a fuse that covers both the radio and the windows and it sounds like it's blown. This has happened to me in the past. Check that chart and track it down.

Lets see if these two diagrams can help you out.
The problem is going to more than likely be one
of theses two systems.
Battery Saver Relay
Accessory Delay Relay
. This relay is in the CJB (Central Junction Box) Located to
the left of the steering wheel at about knee level.

The Battery Saver Relay is built into the cluster. It can be fixed . Just takes some special tools.
The guys at Circuit Board Medics - Automotive & Appliance Circuit Repair can deal with it. Also if you look up Circuitboardmedics.
They are a sponser and you can talk to them on the forum.

Luis,
This is a common problem with the instrument cluster. I know that you're thinking, "How does the instrument cluster control my radio and power windows?", but Ford used the instrument clusters in these trucks almost like a second ECM or body control module.

Here's a link to the service that you need. The cluster will come back to you ready to install with no further programming required. The mileage will remain unchanged.

2002 - 2004 Ford Super Duty Instrument Cluster Repair | CBM

Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to serving you!

CBM did a good job on my 2006. I found a used cluster fo $40 that I used while the origanal cluster was being repaired. I am on the west coast and shipping took a total of 2 weeks. The repair only took one day.

Hey, we don't mind hearing that we did a good job twice!

Seriously though, don't let the 1 week shipping coast-to-coast that Bob mentioned scare you. We have FedEx Overnight and FedEx 2-day options for return at a steep discount on our site as well if you're on the west coast. If yours was a 2005+ model, we could send you a replacement up front, but we don't have exchanges ready for pre-2005 models yet.
