OT- Sometimes the build needs a break (M/C content)

Ive been deep into my 53 project and it has consumed most of my free time and idle thoughts. Thats the point right? Even though I enjoy the work, and planning things out... Sometimes you just gotta take a breather. I cleaned out the garage Thursday night. There has been a lot of steel cutting and grinding so there is quite a bit of steel dust everywhere. I pulled the cover off last years project and went for a nice ride. First time all summer Ive been out for any real riding. While it isn't a blue oval, nor does it have 4 wheels... It sleeps in the same garage as my '53 and has my time and fingerprints injected deeply into it. It has a Harley 1200cc 100hp V twin. I went with a early 60's British Café racer look for this build which used to be a plastic covered sport bike. I deigned and built a seat subframe, hand made, hand pounded, gas welded the aluminum skins, and relocated all the electronics for the fuel injected motor under the seat cowl. It was a two year total resurrection. Its a super fun bike to ride.

During the ride, and my knees in the breeze I had some time to think about my current project. I decided to order the transmission and associated parts for Project 53, even though its technically in next years budget.

If you like to wear a helmet and like the wind on the skin and the breeze on the knees feel free to post your scoot here. I'm not sure if it's okay to post off topics things here but I guess I'll find out...

I like the bike! Not much of a café racer fan but that is pretty sharp. The finished product is what makes all the sweat and blood worth it.

Reminded me of my old friend Ron Grottenelli (in West Seneca) when he used to ride with us on his turbo cafe XR sportster.
