"check arm" is the slider part in the door
"check arm bracket" is the part on the door jamb

probably an easy junkyard find if you have the time

Yeah those parts are all over the scrap yard----removing them without damaging the mounting screws is the challenge though.

If you have a hardened Torx bit and 1/4" drive impact gun take that with you----the rapid repeated blows seem to do a good job removing the Torx screws.

If it's the arm part that you are missing, chances are good you just have to remove the interior door panel and retrieve it from inside the door. Been there done that!

Not sure trying to fix one of those check arms is worth the time Dan---IMHO anyway. If the slide falls inside the door that's a pretty clear indication it was time to replace that part.

Mine was fine, just had to slip it back through the slot and connect it back to the anchor stud. I figure the first owner had disconnected it at some point to be able to open the door fully. If you forget it's hanging there like that and close the door, it can get pushed nearly all the way in. Drive around a little and it will bounce loose and fall down inside.

That's my theory of what happened anyway.

BTW, I found out it was in there as I was preparing to install the replacement arm I had just picked up at the salvage yard, ha!

Yeah I'd only done that too----about 100 times minimum!
