Can anyone tell me how to remove the trim on the sides for painting?

Side trim? Push up and peel them off. The trim is basically a channel with small flanges which snap over the clips.

Fenders, there are clips and studs, one stud on each end the fender. In front of the side marker light and open the door to get to the other. Do you have race trac chrome too, or just "dent" chrome.

Door, again a stud on each end, back edge of the door and 3 plastic clips down the main part, that the chrome clamps to.

If you remove the stud pin and then slide the chrome off the plastic clips with the door open, same for re-installation.

I have the racetrack also but I don't plan on keeping it. The rear portion on the passenger side got crunched and plus I don't personally think it looks good with single tone paint jobs. Thanks for the info. Stuff is tricky.

Race trac is nice with the proper 2 tone paint scheme or all one color (see my blue truck?).

Again 1/4 or 5 3/2, 11/32?? nuts on it, and metal sprig tab clips. Remove the tail lights to access some of the race trac stud nuts. In reality and depending on where you live, dent and race trac chrome is a rust magnet....

I want my paint and body guy to paint a brushed or polished aluminium color with the black strip in my "dent" on the 77.

Take it all off carefully, especially the race trac and flip sale it on the FTE classified's.
