Re-gen something different
If this was discussed before I have not found it or missed it.
I have read quite a few threads about possibly missing the the regen notification. So I was wondering if anybody can tell when the regen starts? I ask because I feel about a 1 second " surge" ( best I can describe it) in my truck. Every time I feel this I look at the dash and sure enough it has started a regen. So am I just goof here or, is there something else going on or, is this a legit feeling?

The first few times I missed the notification. I saw it today. I do have an ON/OFF light on my gauges that glows green during regen. It seems to start regen at about 98% soot on the gauge. I don't notice any change in the truck except for a slight miss while idling at a red light while it is in regen and the EGT temps on the rise. When its finished the light goes out and the soot% is really low again. My gauge that tells how many miles since regen isn't that accurate but it does reset.

I feel a slight bump when a regen starts. Think about what happens. The 4 injectors on the left bank of the engine (I think) start squirting fuel in the exhaust stroke and I'm guessing the egr system closes? Seems like it would have to.
So, while your driving at whatever load and speed there is a significant change. Sometimes I wonder if there is a detonation inside the cylinder due to the heat and pressure when the fuel is sent through the system. Just right at the start of it?

I have an older LG Android phone. I bought the Torque Pro app a few years ago. I use the ELM27 bluetooth dongle from Ebay plugged into the OBD. I used the same one in my 6.0. I found all the settings for the 6.7 in this forum https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...nded-pids.html. Just search Torque App and you will find everything you need. It is a bit of a task to get it set up, but once you do you have a good set of custom gauges for just a few bucks if you have an old smart phone laying around. The 6.7 doesn't let you monitor as much as the 6.0 through it, but then I don't think you need to. Plus it will read and reset codes on any car you plug the dongle into. Here is what I did in the new truck. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...my-gauges.html [url]
