Seat Swap - 4th gen into 3rd gen

Hey, my 1985 e-150 has some super bootleg low-back seats for the driver and passenger. My problem is that we drive 2500 miles in 3 days and they are too uncomfortable. I'm looking for some better options.

The seats are bolted to parallel tracks that slide on a floor mount. The bolts are 11" apart on the tracks and the tracks are parallel with about 11" of space in between them.

There are some leather bucket seats for sale locally that come from the middle of a 2001 econoline. I'm wondering if anyone has experience performing a swap like this and whether it's possible.

I'm going to take a look at them today. Hopefully it'll be as simple as using a steel plate between the seat and the mount to join the two. I'd also appreciate advice on what seats do fit. I have the option of checking out a junk yard about a 1/2 hour from me. Thank you guys.
