Bucket Seats! intall.
i know right off the back the floors of my truck arent original. so i am using the ol'see-where-it-lands-and-drill-a-hole-there tech.

this is before how they were.

this when you take the cover off...
I would love to do buckets, but I really need to be able to carry three wide in the cab.
Depending on how it all goes, I may swap to a newer style bench in the future, but for now, I have a decent 78-79 bench seat to use.
Good luck on your project today.

Pull the seat up all the way to access the rear bolts. two of them.

bigdaddy... carpet is wet 1. bec when i took the pictures i sprayed the heck out of bolts and what not and it got all over. 2. bec in my drive way all the snow and ice is melting and i kept going in and out of the truck with my wet shoes...

impalaslayer.... no they didnt wouldnt you know it the ones on the driver side (1 in the rear one in the front) had to be cut out..... rusted shut no way to get it out and then it spun!

did find the rest of the build sheet... but in brittle pieces...

totally recommend this.
1) take off bench seats
2) take off panels and what ever is holding down the carpet
3)take off carpet or roll from back to front just enough to see were your going to put the new seats.
4) fit everything center... use steering wheel as guide measure 3x
5) put seats in and see what kind of spacers you would need to put in the area.
6)then mark holes you would want to drill... (again measure!)
7)start with the 2 in front
8)finish with the 2 in back
9)before tightening everything make sure its where you want it
10) repeat for other side.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts

next weekend i am installing the Hurst floor shifter i got for my truck.
My build still has quite a ways to go, but the interior is going to be "my space". My truck is a bit of a tribute to my dad and a truck he had when I was a kid. He is pretty sick and we are not sure how many years he has left. (as if you really know anyway)
I will be installing some of the Ranger XLT trimmings, but not with any of the woodgrain trim, just the chrome trim.
It will have some of my own likings to it too. I bought a custom shift **** and I am building a custom shifter extension for the NP435 shifter (no details until it's done on that one, but it should be killer). I am also installing an old school two shaft/**** style stereo, but with my own modern twists too.
I want the interior to be like stepping into a time capsule for my dad (while he's still here). It should be pretty plush on the inside, but I'll worry about the exterior when the time comes (much later).
This is how the interior sits at the moment. The carpet is not installed yet, it is just laying there.
man.... it was nice too. oh well now i have to buy another one. i told him he had to pay for it but then just laughed
this is what i have to install yet... (not actually mine just a picture off internet)

AK awesome story man. best of luck to you i bet he would love what your doing for him. mine is a father son project aswell... well more like father comes out once-in-a-while to check up while son freezes his butt off outside doing the work... but its all good.

It has been a fun build so far, it's nice to see a smile on his face when he visits the shop. My dad being sick, does not come out to play very often, but when he is having a good day, he likes to drive over, bull *****, have a cold one and give some advise..... My father-in-law is usually side by side with me out in the shop. Lucky for me, he has given me some space to work on my project inside his shop (man cave).
I looked into those stereos, but they were way too expensive and believe it or not, most of them do not have real good reviews.
I have picked up a couple old skool tape decks. One Alpine and one Kenwood, and will just run one of those into a newer EQ. I'll use the EQ as the main control for the rest of the system.
Well, back to work I go....
Keep up the good work on your truck and remember to enjoy every minute you spend with that old man of yours.
