Brake questions
It's hot outside and my dog is sick. I am doing nothing but asking questions today. I have stock drums on all four corners of my '56 and I plan on leaving it that way. I'm going to upgrade to a dual reservoir master cylinder. At first glance it looks like the newer parts use much larger brake lines than stock. I can learn to make/run new brake lines. I worry what to do where the flexible brake line connects to the old stock drum and also how to connect it after it passes through the frame.????????????????

Currently in the midst of upgrading the brakes on my 55 350. Mine may be a bit different than yours becuase I am using a 1.25" master cylinder. You should be able to find a drum/drum MC that will work. Mid fifty and LMC both have those for fairly cheap. as for the brake lines you should be able to leave those alone. The only thing I think you will have to change is an adapter where the lines connect to the MC. My setup will be this: a T fitting for the front brakes since those have separate lines. a banjo fitting for the rear and the brake light sensor. I hear a metal coat hanger helps to get the bends you want.
Since you are keeping the drum brakes the way they are you do not want to play around with the amount of fluid going to them. keep the brake lines the same ID if you decide to re run them.
