Convert floor dip switch to steering column.

I am assuming you mean the low/high beam switch? I think it would be easier to just add a generic switch within reach somewhere up high.
When Ford moved it up in the column they changed a bunch of things around and called it the "multi-function switch". It has the wiper control, the turnsignals, the high/lowbeam and probably something else I missed. And the column was changed to incorporate all that. So it would be a pretty big job to retro-fit that to your older vehicle.
It would not be too bad to take the 3 wires from the floor switch and extend them up to a toggle switch on a bracket mounted somewhere within reach.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm happy with the actual wiring, I intend to use a latching relay so I'll have flash too.
What I really want to know is has anyone ever fitted a different stalk to the column that will give me left and right indicators plus another switch for the headlights main/dip when the stalk is pulled back. I'm wondering if there is a universal stalk or one for another vehicle which would fit.
