Code 13 and 24 same time ...

Wonder if any suggestions on where to start with these dual codes ? Attempted to look in the intake, clean but no change for the air temp sensor, might be simply time to replace .... just wonder if there's much history of this one ? Speed density 5.0 92 vintage ....

Did you get the engine to operating temperature before pulling codes?

Usually code 24 is due to this.

Let's step back a few steps....

Why are you running Key On Engine Running (KOER) tests? You should ALWAYS start with the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) test and stored code display.

1991 was the transition from two digit to three digit codes. Depending on what engine/transmission you have you could have one OR the other in 1992. Please list your vehicle details so we can assist you with an accurate diagnosis.

1992 5.0 f150 speed density, 4 wd. I tried adding that information in my user setup, but apparently it is still not posting.

KOEO when codes were taken, they were stored in memory with engine light on ....

Code 13 is KOER only (Cannot control rpm during Self-Test low rpm check).

My 1992 Ford truck service manual shows Code 24 is KOEO or KOER, not a stored code.

How are you checking the codes? Counting flashes or using a code reader?

What transmission does the truck have?

COUNTING FLASHES

What transmission does the truck have?
MANUAL 5 speed

Since this is an engine issue, what difference does it make which trans ?

If you had an E4OD transmission then you would most likely have three digit codes.

Since you havea manual transmission the codes are most likely two digit.

This is a common problem decoding them when counting flashes.
