Electrical noise in dash

2002 Ex 7.3 4x4. Just replaced both batteries and alternator. Now there is a continuous noise coming from inside the dash. Somewhat described as an electrical static or cracking noise. It's not a speaker, but could be a radio equalizer? Has anyone had that problem? It does it with the truck on and with the truck completely off and the key out and door open. Just won't stop. Guessing it's drawing on the battery too. Have to work non-stop the next day so hoping someone can give me a jumpstart on what to look for when I get a chance.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

I'm sure others will chime in with advise, but I would probably disconnect the batteries in the meantime. I would also check and make sure my insurance policy is up to date.

We live in the same city, so maybe I can sell you whatever parts are left after the fire.

Dealership is stumped. How is that possible? Has to be a relay under the dash somewhere. Nobody has encountered this on their excursion?

Not sure who the tech is, can't remember his name. I know he has been there a while. So has my service advisor. I usually do my own work...except when it's electrical or I have worked 70 hours before the weekend. This situation meets both requirements.

It's federal @ 13th.

I only let 3 techs work on my ride NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
Under the hood Mack or Chris, Mack being my first choice.
Outside the engine compartment Joe.

All three work in the superduty garage (building to the west of service drive wall).

I'm sure Joe J. Can figure that out, it's just process of elimination if they don't know from the get go. Joe has had my dash apart for something I just can't recall why.

If you want to try it again ask for him to look at it.

Good luck with this and report back and let us know your findings

In the meantime, why couldn't you start pulling fuses and try to narrow it down?

Got it back today. I didn't have a chance to go over details because I was in a rush, but it was the turn signal relay that was making the noise (Chinese). I don't remember replacing it, but the old girl does have 340k miles so I probably did somewhere along the way. The multifunction switch was also causing an issue, so it was replaced. I will get the details from my service advisor. Mack worked on it, and going over past work orders it appears he always does. Unfortunately, Jose passed away about 6 months ago. When I get more details I will be sure to update.
