6.7 diesel tuner worth it?

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
Are you just putting a tuner on it and leaving everything else stock? Personally I would advise against doing so, but that's just my own opinion. The reasoning behind it is that pretty much every tune out there will increase the power, which is to say it's increasing the fueling, which will increase the amount of exhaust particulates the DPF has to trap. Most likely you'll end up with more regens which will hit your fuel economy, and in extreme cases could shorten the life span of the DPF.
If you plan on deleting the DPF (some opt to also delete the EGR), then a tune is mandatory. Now the trick here is what power level do you want and what will be the restricting factors. Again, my opinion, but I'm not a fan of putting higher HP tunes on 11-14 trucks with the stock turbo. It just doesn't like to be pushed, and I've seen failures because it was run too hard with a tune that was pushing it too far. The 15 turbo is more forgiving and can handle more.
Mild to wild is going to be up to your budget. But the above is my own personal recommendation. Others will chime in with different opinions.
