I have bought a 2010 King Ranch with the twin turbo and installed the Hypertech performance programmer witch did not change much the truck still has no power until the turbo spools up and the fuel mileage is only 14 MPG. My old truck was a 2002 Chevy 2500 with the Duramax with the Hypertech programmer that truck was fun to drive with lots up power and 17 to 18 MPG. I prefer the looks of the fords and was looking to trade mine in on a new one with the 6.2 V 8 gas our the new diesel does any one have any feed back on fuel mileage and performance of these engine.
Do some searching on this & the 6.4L forum section. There are plenty of threads regarding tuners & chips on the Powerstroke motors. As capn kirk has stated, the overwhelming thought is that "canned" tunes, like those included with your Hypertech, are borderline worthless, and some have been known to be detrimental to the longevity of the motor and/or transmission.
If you really want to feel some performance gains, go with something like an XCal III with custom tunes from a known & trusted tuner (i.e. the person that manipulates the programming/tunes). Here on FTE, Spartan Diesel Technologies tends to be the preferred tuner for the 6.0L & 6.4L PSDs.
