f150 4.9 pipe size

So it's raining like a **** here and I don't have a garage space right now (trans am t tops leak) but does anyone know what size the stock pipes are right before the first convertor when it is still two pipes? Am wanting to do dual exhaust on the ol girl since most of the factory stuff is rusted out, checking online duals are the only way to get away from tractor sounds.

I think they are 2.25" . One of my parts trucks had duals, one pipe from each manifold, and no muffler. I never heard it run but the guy I got it from said it sounded like shiz, really bad. My truck exhaust had been chopped off behind the front cat. The pipe there is 3" so I used a long glasspack then split it into duals and it sounds pretty good for a six-banger, mostly because it's not loud. I don't think you'll like the sound of two 3-cylinders, unless you add an equalizer pipe. If you do that you may as well split into duals after the 1st cat like mine.
