which shocks best for 2002 Lincoln Navigator?

I'm interested in changing the shocks on my 2002 Lincoln Navigator RWD with Rear Suspension. there is nothing wrong with the air bags in the back but i believe the shocks are worn out. they still have the originial shocks from factory. I bought the truck in 2004 and i loved the height and the smooth driving and i would like to bring that back to it. I believe the height has fell a bit not alot.

what do you all of you recommend?

In the rear the airbag and shocks are separate units. The fronts ones are a combination unit, but not the rears.

Coil spring ? Or torsion spring?

When you said "RWD" I assume you referring to 2-wheel drive as opposed to 4WD?

For normal every day needs go with Monroe or KYB shocks which will cost $25-35 each, depending where you buy them. Some will recommend installing Bilstein shocks, but they are overkill if you're not going off-road or towing heavy loads.

Check http://shop.advanceautoparts.com as they usually always have a discount code at the top of the webpage. The current code is for 15% plus a $25 off coupon for your next order, but that expires tomorrow. I'm sure there will be another one after that. If you're in no rush for the front shocks, just order the rears. Then when you get the $25 off coupon use it to purchase the fronts in conjunction with whatever the new discount code is. That way you come close to getting one for free. Also, although they say it's for online only purchases, that doesn't mean you have to have them shipped. You can create the order, select a local store to get the parts at, pay online, then with your receipt you go and get the parts the same day. You also get to avoid shipping charges that way.
