445 Build - buying a used water pump and starter?
I took out a 410 and am replacing it with a 445 with aluminum heads and a hydraulic roller cam.
I was going to re-use the OEM water pump and starter, but there is a used Edelbrock 8805 water pump and Powermaster 9506 starter available fairly locally.
I have no idea how old the OEM pump or starter are, they both worked, but I think the Edelbrock will flow more, and the Powermaster is smaller and will be less of a struggle to install (and remove later one) than the OEM starter.
Before I make an offer I thought I'd check to see if any of you have had problems with these after they have been in service for a while. Seems you cannot buy the parts to rebuild an Edelbrock water pump.
