'57 f100 rearend mounting

Anyone here mount the rear axle above the springs to gain a few inches of drop in the rear? If so, how did you handle the mounting perches?

you can buy new spring perches at most speed shops. you just cut the old ones off and re-weld the new ones on.

the only problem you might run into is that there might not be a lot of clearance between the axle and frame rail and you can bottom out.

what i did was remove every other spring and made longer rear shackles to get the rear end down about 3 or 4".

I flipped the front hangers on mine, had the top leaf eye reversed and lifted the rear spring hanger.. dropped mine about 6inch and no need to c notch the chassis.
