Does anyone know the rear spring perch width (leaf spring to leaf spring) on a 53-56 F100. I have a 4 link set up on mine with air bags. I am considering going back to leaf springs. I'm not happy with PO's set up. I have a rear end from a 79 Versailles on my 55 chevy. The rear end was narrowed a few inches and the spring perches moved in. I'm planning on getting rid of the 55 chevy and was planning to use the Versailles rear on the F100 if it's feasible. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Was able to find the info. Stock rear leaf springs on a 53-56 F100 are 40in center to center. Unfortunately the spring perches on the Lincoln rear I have are 38inches. Making it 1in off per side.
Does anyone have any experience with using spring mounts other than the stock ones? Or even aftermarket ones? I'm hoping I can find spring mounts that won't move the springs out from the frame as much as the stock F100 ones do. I'm trying to avoid moving the spring perches on the rear end since the rear end is powder coated.
Thanks in advance for any and all help or advice,
rustfarmer
