WHAT YEAR 6.0 DO I HAVE?

Hey guys, I'm a little bit stumped. I just bought an 04 6.0. Date on the sticker on the inside of the door is 9/04 which I believe is the cutoff, so I would have an 03 motor. The ICP sensor isn't on the valve cover, so that should be another indication of an 03. But what has me stumped is my EGR cooler is square...even if it was replaced, why would they replace the better round one with the worse square? Let me know if theres any other way to identify the year. Thanks.

Does your intake crossover under the turbo or dead ends?

You can go to the tech folder for 6.0 and hit the PDF'S. Scroll down to the 04 ,05 etc. coffee table links to see the 6.0 evolution thru the years.

It sounds like you have an early 04 with the ICP in the back of the engine. What intake do you have?

With a date of 9/04 you have a 2005, not a 2003 or 2004. Maybe you meant the date is 9/03?

Is there a sticker from International on the passenger side of the engine, I think towards the rear of the valve cover, with a date on it?

His ICP sensor is NOT on the valve cover making it prior.
I believe his date given is the body sticker date. The engine is usually older build date unless it was swapped out.

Frankenstein Truck!

Let's see, a 9/04 body date would give it an 05 grill. (with coil front springs no less)

ICP under turbo would make it an 03 motor,

yet has the late build 04 EGR square cooler in it. (Could someone have put a BPD EGR cooler on it?)

And sold titled as an 04.

Probably right about it being a 9/03 truck instead of a 9/04.

He's showing you the cross-over piece on the intakes (upside down) -- see extra piece on left at bottom?
