85 bronco.. just a few questions
Hi, I just bought me a bronco a couple weeks ago and had a few questions. Well first let me tell you about it.
Its a 85 bronco xlt with a 351 h.o. factory 4 barrel motor, its got a c6 and 3:55s. Its got some rust and needs a new pair job. The PO had the bottom end rebuilt with flat tops a can and bored.030. Its all factory other than that.
So heres what I was wanting to ask y'all.
1st it clunks pretty hard when I put it in reverse not sure why my guess is u joints or rear end.
2nd it burns a little oil... Don't know why it would be doing that unless maybe it was valve seals or something.
3rd and lastly the transfer case won't go into 4 low unless I shut it off and put it in and then turn it back on, if you try to engage it while the engines running it just grinds and trys to get hung up, 4 hi works like a charm though.. Kinda puzzles me. On the plus side I rebuilt the carb today and it runs a whole lot better, it would flood itself out before if you kicked in the 4 barrel to quick and I got me a new break booster. The PO made a mess of the vaccum lines.

No problem! I hope what I suggested works, thanks for the complement. I would suggest starting a separate thread as your build thread, and it's not that hard to put multiple pictures in one post. What does your interior look like?

Red carpet with a red dash, got a factory tach and digital clock (state of the art) carpets in good shape as is the dash glove box is missing its door and the passenger side window needs a new motor. The speaker covers are all busted but no worry's there I'm gonna make some. All the interiors original and its still got the factory cassette player and it still works. I believe I'm gonna start a build thread... Hopefully this weekend I'll replace the hubs and u joints, and put my 2 core radiator and oil cooler on it and maybe mess with the rear window maybe I can get it to roll down
