My new Bronco!

I just got a 1978 Bronco, bust sadly it doesnt run. It definitely needs a new u-joint, a new ignition switch, passenger door lock/latch, some carb work, and probably a hundred other things i've yet to find.

The front gasket on the carb leaks gas, and the guy said that the "accelerator pump/diaphragm" is bad. I know next to nothing about carbeurators, sadly, otherwise i'd already be wrenching on it.

Any suggestions? Suggestions for names?

Nice truck/trailer.

oh, wait.

hmm, don't forget to tell them about the part where you locked the keys inside and we had to break into your new bronco with a coat hanger!
(see, tv is good for something..)

The previous owner made a mess of this poor truck, but we'll get it back to running soon enough.

Nice! I'll try to follow your progress on this one; it might help keep me motivated to work on mine. I've also had a hundred and one things I've had to fix or return to working order after the previous owners finished hacking on it. If there's anything I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask. My PM and email box are always open.

the reason it doesn't look rusty is that it has -terrible- bondo and fiberglass work. i don't really care, however, as long as it stays together. so far, my only set plans are for getting her running right. thanks for the offer, i'll be relying on this board's expertise for my build-up.

Nice!
Well, first comes first... Go take those BFG all terrains off, and put some of the biggest swampers you can afford, right after you get it running though.

Any info you'd like to share? Transmission? Engine? Stock gears, open? ect...

It's a 400 with a c6, haven't checked the gears yet, we think it's a stock 9" rear.

Right now it's sitting at a local mechanic's house being checked over for things i missed while I save up the cash for the parts.

Unfortunately, the biggest swampers i could afford right now may be smaller than the BFG's, heh.

Ok, if it's stock, then it's more than likely 3.50 gears with a limited slip rear end.

I had a feeling you might of said that about tires.

Leak is usually a bad gasket, though it probably is too. If the original carb then the best thing is to put an Edelbrock 600 cfm (1405?) with 2" carb spacer and electric choke (I prefer manual) for the most trouble free driving.
