wheel / tire combo

2004 stock 6.0 4x4 with stock 16" rims now & slightly larger than stock tires ...

I really want 20" black rims with 35" tires but I cant reall add a lift kit since I do need to park in parking garages in the city from time to time....

I'm trying to black my X out and make it look much better after driving it basically stock since it was brand new back in 04'

What would you suggest for wheels & tire combo ?
ideas ?
pictures ?
recommendations ?

you can do 35's and fit it under a standard 7' garage door, but you can't do 35's with a 4" lift. If you go with 1 or 2" lift it should work.

Stock ride height without any type of lift the best you can do is about 33" tires, maybe a little more with some trimming of the wheel well liners and under bumper valence, may also need to space the front bumper out a little. I don't see how you could do 35"s in totally stock trim though.

I have 32's or 33's now and they barely fit.....
But i'm afraid if I put 20" rims on the same tire it will ride rough and look silly.... which is why I asked for ideas / pics
Maybe go with the same tires and 18" rims ??

Ultraboy --> I was referring to parking garages in the city (as in pay to park garages)... max height is 6'4-6'6.... I hit the bar now when I go in but just fit once inside the garage

Good rule of thumb for clearances is if the antenna clears or barely hits, the roof will clear as well. Saves my butt with the 4" and 35's.

I don't forsee 35's working without a small amount of lift. If you get ballsy you could trim the fenders for clearance but there is no coming back from that.

Even with 20's, you'll have decent sidewall without the ride altering too much. Personally I'd stick to 18's as the tires are a bit cheaper overall, plus you can fit them without much issue.
