choke tube gasket

The gasket blew out on the choke (tube) plate on my 460.
The one that sits on the engine with the tubes running up to the choke.

Do I need to apply a gasket sealer when I replace it or does it just go on dry?
I've read some conflicting opinions on it.
A tad on the corners to hold it in place.
Put it on dry
or put sealer on it.
I know when I remove it I will be able to tell but since I don't have any hi temp sealant. I'd rather buy some when I get the gasket than go back.
a picture to help

They came without sealer. You can use high temp rtv if you want, but it's not mandatory.

Got another dumb question..
I can't remove the plate without loosening the carb up.
Is it safe to tighten it back down without replacing that gasket?
I realize it's a 1 time item pretty much but I am hoping I could get away with it..
I'm hoping I won't have to remove the carb completely to pull the choke plate off.
Didn't think I would need a base gasket and didn't order one.

update:
I'm not going to risk dealing with vacuum leaks so I'm just going to get the base gasket.
Sucks putting stuff back together but it was only a few bolts but I sure am not happy about breaking what seal was left of that choke plate gasket. (it's my only vehicle right now so it has to run.)
