Rear axle color?

As some of you may know I'm working on a rear axle as an upgrade to be installed later,. I had planned on making it's final color black, but as I was standing back running scenario's thru my head I got the idea of painting it (along with the drive shaft, backing plates, and drums) the same color as the truck, does this sound stupid? I don't plan on changing truck color any time in the future so that's not a factor, and I still have paint and it's components, left over from when I painted the truck. Id like your honest opinions, do you think it would add detail, or just look stupid?

Just my opinion, but I think they should match the frame color.

I've seen pics of frames painted other than black, and the axle, etc were the frame color. I think it looked really good. But IMHO if your frame is black I think the rest should match.

Yeah I know, with too many colors going on it can just look busy, or tacky. Even chrome has to be balanced to look good.

I vote for red, but then again I'm biased. I also agree that the frame should match.

Jim,
I do have some color differences in my chassis. The truck is the same red (the old Porsche Guards Red).

My 1949 F-1 came to me with frame and axles and suspension all painted yellow to match the body. Too much yellow for me, so I am in-process of painting frame, suspension, and axles back to black.. Even the front inner fender panels will be painted back to black. Just what looks right to me.

Definitely put my vote in for black. Especially when the frame is black already.

Trailer queen or usable vehicle?... if it will ever be seen in public in a less than perfectly spotless state then I vote frame+drive black, if it will be a queen then paint everything body color.

Maybe Ford knew what they were doing with their color choices when they built these trucks. Keep it black.

Good morning guys, It sounds like it would look best black, or the same color as the frame, which is black. Everybody's honest input, is very much appreciated, and Id like to thank each of you. I learned one more thing about why so many of the FTE trucks look so good. frame color should match rear axle. SO black it shall be. Imagine, when I was 18 I thought, no I did know everything, and now the older I get (64 next month) I realize I don't know squat LOL. Have a great day gentleman.
