Clutch replacement

Finally doing my clutch... got the pilot bearing out and...

1st photo- Lots of little pieces!! Not sure whats up with this thing, the replacement one is a solid, smooth-faced piece of metal...
Took me a long time to get this out... was using white grease and trying to "hydraulic" it out of there... switched over to "Brown" grease and pop!
\

2nd photo- Cleaned up the transmission as best I could, I dont own a pressure washer so I just wire brushed it and used a can of engine degreaser, then tried to rinse it off... it's better than it was!

Didn't have brake cleaner for the flywheel(d'oh!!) So hopefully I'll get it wrapped up tomorrow...

Question

So I got everything all put back together... took it out for a rip around the block... The pedal is soooo weak compared to before (like it takes almost no effort to push it.) But the clutch seems to engage/disengage all the way.
We tried bleeding it a few times... maybe not enough?

What's a new clutch supposed to feel like in these trucks? Mine's supposed to be a stage 2. The old one had much more "feel" and resistance in the pedal.

Kinda happy that it works, but... disappointed that it's weird??

Thank you all! One less bad slave cylinder in the world today...

Ok, so this morning I went out and took the truck for a drive... clutch still felt weak and soft... just barely made it to the mechanics shop up the street. Left it there and missed a whole day of work for nothing (well, almost...)

Guy bled the slave and topped up the trans fluid, which was much lower than expected... :O
Clutch pedal is still super soft, easy to push and doesn't really spring back with the same vigor it used to. However, the clutch engages like crazy! Anyone else ever had a stage 2 clutch? This is the first one I've ever used and wow... it's gonna take some getting used to...

Anyway, 160$ into the shop's pocket, and a little peace of mind/bewilderment from me. Also, I can hear the difference with that new pilot bushing!! There was a kind of "whirring" noise that's gone now... just the soothing rumble of that ol' 302

Not sure why, but I can never seem to find this thread when I go to the 1987 to 1996 F series and Larger Trucks" page... I have to search in my control panel... whats up with that? Mod?? Thanks!
