No pictures showing. Can you see the shifter rail moving? 1-2 should be the rail on the right side. I'm guessing either the roll pin holding the fork to the rail sheared off or the fork itself broke.

The forks look ok. Are they solidly attached to the rail, roll pin not broken? By the looks of the last pic I can't see any sign of a roll pin protruding from the hole in the bottom fork, which would be the 1-2 fork. In the first pic the gears from left to right are 4-3-2-1. 5th and reverse are in the rear section. Were there any cuttings or metal fragments inside the case? Was it grinding at all in either gear and could you feel the shifter make a positive engagement (ie, the detents were engaging)? The engagement teeth on the gears and blocking rings look good from what I can see in the picture. How are the teeth inside the synchro ring? Those are the silver rings between the gears.

Actually i stuck my magnet into the bottom and pulled like a very thin semi circle piece of metal and i guess there isnt a pin. Before it stopped working there would be grinding when going from 1st to 2nd and a little going from 2nd to 3rd. And now that its not working 3rd to reverse have the normal tension but 1st and 2nd are very loose. All that was before taking off the cover

Is the 1-2 fork firmly attached to the shifter rail? It should not slide on the rail. Can you see if the roll pin is still in place on that fork?

Well i checked the shift forks and they are solid, the pin is there its just flush, drained the atf which it was full and good, and found these metal shards on the plug. There shouldnt have been anything because i just changed the fluid like 5 months ago. I think the thin semi circle i found earlier goes with this.

Rowdy, you need to look a little closer at the pics. I think 1-2 fork is totally shot! Looks to me like there isn't anything left to go into the collar!

Rowdy told me the fork thats shot goes to the 3-4 gears. From front to rear are the gears 4-3-2-1 then 5-R in the smaller section?

Sorry, I was thinking it was flipped over. Either way, you may want to start shopping for a good used top.

Wait a minute, 1-2 has to be on the side and 3-4 in the middle, so the worn fork IS 1-2. And yes, 5-r is in the back.
