will 9.00x16 tires fit a 1966 f250 4x4

I have a 1966 f250 4x4 with a 352 and 4.56 gears and a 4 speed. That being said my top speed isnt much over 60 mph. I have 7.50x16tires now and was wondering if anyone has run the 9.00x16 tires. I know all the associated issues with the bias ply tires i was mainly looking for fitment. Ive heard all sorts of things but never with anyone with actual experience. Thanks for your input.

A friend had 9x16 Continentals that worked on his highboy. Tall and skinny and not a very aggressive tread, good for highway, dirt, but not mud. He loved them even though they were very expensive. The retailer told him if he avoided flats and other damage they could be retreaded.

I have a line on some powerkings that are pretty reasonable. My wife is buying me new single piece rims so i stop using my split rims. Anybody have a thought on color. I like the original look my splits are black but ive had people recently say i should go white to keep it original looking.

That 352 will do a lot more than 60 MPH. I had the exact same setup and would regularly run 70. Was it screaming? Definitely. Did it have anything left?

Before I tore the 352 out I decided to take it out on the road and see what it would do. I mashed the skinny pedal and wound it around to 85 mph (about 4600 rpm) where the old points couldn't keep up and it started to miss.

This was all on 32" tall tires.

Now with my 410 (actually 416) and 4.10 gears, I can go faster yet. In fact, the highway patrol's radar gun clocked me at 103 mph - and I was slowing down.

The FE started out as a car engine. It moved on to be a quite successful race engine. Most versions of the 352 reached peak horsepower at 4400 RPM. You're not going to hurt anything except your fuel mileage by running 3600 RPM (70 mph).

Thats awesome. My 7.50 's are only 28 inches tall at this point and a little dry rotted so speed is not my friend at the moment. With the bigger tires I'll at least have a better conscience trying to keep up with traffic.

Are you sure that you have 28" tall 7.50X16 tires? All of the 7.50X16 tires that I have been around are a solid 31" if not 32".

Just FYI, this will be my next tire.

You have no idea of the things that I would be willing to do to get a set of new 8.25R16 tires. Even though they are plentiful in lots of other countries, we can't get them here.

Thats how worn my 7.50s are. The shoulder lugs are the only tread showing. It may be 28 1/2 inches actual measurement. If the 9.00x16 s didnt work id go back to a new set of 7.50s. So should i go black or white rims

9.00X16's are about 36" tall, right? Take a tape measure and measure 18" from the hub and see how close it comes to the fender. Unless your springs are super sagged out, they will fit with ease.

I like white rims. But that being said, we need pictures of your truck - lots of pictures.
