97 F-250 OBD II?

Hello, I am a new member. I am in need of some information.

I have a '97 F-250 superduty powerstroke, manuel RWD. I am liking to put a tune on it, but I am not sure if it will work through the OBD II. I have looked at other threads and couldn't find a straight answer if it is an OBD II or a OSB-PSD. I do have a data link connection under the dash. With code readers I can't read live feeds so I am not sure if it will work.

If some one can let me know what tuners will work, and if this year and engine is OBD II or not.

Side note, I just bought this truck this past fall and the last owner replaced both computers so I am not sure if they were reprogrammed properly if they need to be.

The engine uses obd2 port yes, it is just below and to the left of the glove box. And yes edge I belive uses the obd port to change software. However that is not recommended. Edge programmers Can wipe out our pcms. Most all of us run a TS 6 position chips. Search TS 6 position on here Or in Google and you should get some results

Thank you very much, that is a good thing to know about the edge chips. I will look more into the ts 6 position chip.

Thanks again.

For what it's worth, the 1996 (at least) engine decal (on the valve cover) specifically states the following "This engine is OBDII exempt". That doesn't necessarily mean the electronics do not spit out OBD but as far as emissions go it is not OBDII compliant.
