Excursion vs f250 suspension lifts???

So there is a guy with a suspension lift kit on his 2002 crew cab long bed f250 7.3 diesel 4x4
He's looking to sell his lift and exchange/trade for stock suspension
1) question is will my excursion suspension swap to his? And vice versa?
I've read that some v10 springs won't work on a 7.3?? Any truth to that? Is the 7.3 that much heavier??
I have an 2000 excursion 4x4 v10
Thanks in advance!

1) question is will my excursion suspension swap to his? Yes, they will swap from one truck to the other, nearly all suspension parts are common across the SD/EX lineup with the exception of spring rates and height.
And vice versa? You will be very happy with the results, he will be very unhappy with his results. See below.

I've read that some v10 springs won't work on a 7.3?? They will work (as in they will fit) but V-10 springs are weight rated lower. Any truth to that? Yes, the heavier PSD will have the softer V-10 springs riding in a more compressed state. Is the 7.3 that much heavier?? Yes, by about 400lbs or so.

In addition to the V-10 springs being too soft for the truck's PSD you also have to consider that the EXs started off from the factory sitting 2" lower than a comparable SD of the same year and engine. Ford marketed the EX to soccer moms and the softer lower suspension gave a cushier ride and allowed them to fit in more garages. So yeah, that SD lift would be a great thing to swap under your EX (and it will be 2" more lift on an EX than a SD, 4" SD lift = 6" EX lift) but swapping a stock EX suspension to an F-250 would result in a low mushy 3/4 ton truck with an unhappy owner.

No , total stranger, just replied to his ad on Craigslist. I guess my only other concern is , is the stock excursion and stock f250 cc long bed drive shafts the same length?

No, the EX driveshaft is shorter. How big of a lift is on the pickup? It would have to be pretty high to have needed a new longer driveshaft....
Is the truck guy actually contemplating going along with this swap?

No, but why do you ask? I'm trying to help and have a conversation here but you need to provide a little feedback to make that happen.
How big of a lift does the truck have?
Does the truck owner want to do this swap with you?
Why the concern about driveshafts, does the truck have a lengthened one due to the size of the lift.
Do you plan to upgrade tire size if you get this lift?
Depending on what size tire you plan to run, your V-10 will be a lot happier with deeper gears, especially if you tow at all with tire taller than stock 32"s.

Long bed regular cab, extended cab, or crew cab?
