Lock Punched In, Need advice!

Hi everyone, my 2009 Ford F150 was broken into and they punched in the lock cylinder on my driver side door. I am being told that I have to buy the Lock Cylinder ($86) and the Door Handle Assembly ($230). But I have been reading online that if the keypad entry still works (which it does), then they probably did not break the inner door handle and therefore, I can just buy the lock cylinder. Does anyone have a similar issue and some advice on how they resolved it? I would hate to have to pay $418 (with labor) for the door to get fixed. I can still lock and unlock the door with the remote and the keypad, so its not 100% necessary that I fix the key entry. I just want to take care of the truck for future resale value as best as I can. I would appreciate any feedback!!! TY

If I'm not mistaken part of the door handle holds the lock cylinder in place so if the cylinder is punched in chances are those pieces are broken and the handle needs to be replaced. Try to pull the panel off and have a look to see.

I would check on eBay or do a Google search. I would bet you can get a better deal yourself. Also the door panels come off fairly easy, you may want to look into fixing it yourself. Me I'm not sure I would fix it (unless it looks bad), I haven't used a key to get in a vehicle (excluding my 67 Cougar) in over a decade.

Don't you have to repaint the door? A few years ago the lock cylinder was pried out of my mustang and the most expensive part of the repair was painting the door.

I would leave it alone, park it where it was broken into with a cell phone on the dash...waiting quietly in the bushes with a shotgun. Fill the shells with whatever you want from rubber to salt to...

Most have at least a $500 deductible on their policy. Maybe a pro can match paint and make repair invisible though. That would probably be closer to 1k these days.

Gonna be some out of pocket no matter what.

I still have one teenage driver so I have $2,500 deductible. At that price you either fix things yourself or live with them.

BTW, welcome to the forum Smith2628.

$500 or $1000 on collision. But my deductible on a theft is only $100. My last truck was broken into and that's all I paid. I had door damage, lock damage and they destroyed the wiring in the column trying to get it started. Thank you Viper security. They never did get it.
Might be worth a second look at the policy.

I have a used 2009 drivers door handle with the keypad that I would give you if you need it. It is a little faded (not bad) and the #3 button is burnt out.

With some plastic paint it would look new and you might be able to find just the key pad part? Msg me if you would like it and I would just want the cost to send it postal service
