Pretty much what the title says. I have a 1996 F350 and My oil cooler is leaking, its not leaving a few drips anymore, it makes a small puddle now when the truck is cold. Once its warm it leaves a few drips and pretty much stops. How hard is it to do this yourself? Part two of my battle is that its REALLY cold here in NJ and I don't have a shop to work in. I would end up doing this in the driveway unless my neighbor lets me use his shop (I don't see why he wouldn't but I don't know for sure yet). What do you guys think DIY or have someone else do it?
Well to further continue my story, I just went to advanced and bought the gasket kit and a few gallons of anti freeze. Ive got a new filter and oil ready and its oil change time anyway. My neighbor is gonna let me use his shop so I'm going to give this a shot.
It is not bad.prepare for your bath tho.
Then as you bring it out turn it and its like a key.it will come out you won't have to force it just be patient.
You did get new ford o-rings didn't you? All i saw you say were parts store gaskets?
Yea that wouldn't be fun. Been there done that lol. I have access to a shop press too if needed because I have seen that some mention that its easiest to press the cooler back together piece by piece after installing the new o rings.
