Which chip to get?
good one? My other question is that I read that on the 1995-1998 you can only increase the horsepower by 80 but on the 98-03 you can increase them by 140. Is that true? Thank you.. Well guess half my post got deleted but before that I said that I have been looking at the places go get chips.. I looked at ktperformance, alligator performance and thouroughbred deisel and I'm leaning toward thouroughbred.. They all seem to have differant prices so are some better than others? I want stock high idle +50 hp, 100hp, +140hp and valet. My truck is a 1997 f250 automatic supercab longbed 7.3

i prefer DP tunes.
everyone has their own opinion.
you can add as much power as you want, but to get any more than about 50 hp you will need to modify the injectors, turbo, exhaust, intake, HPOP, and the list goes on.

Does power hungry still offer a 6 postion ts chip I looked on there website and only see hydra. I gotta replace sticks in my 99 and thinking about singles instead of splits but don't wanna spend $500 on a chip

my DP F-5 chip with cable, switcher, and 3 tunes was under $350 from Clay at RiffRaff 8 years ago. last time i looked the F-5 setup just like i have was is still under $400

When I ordered my AFE air filter from Thoroughbred Diesel they had a special going on. A TS chip with canned tunes on it for an extra $100. Gear head was $175 for the tunes, if you want to call them that, so that's $275 for 'custom' tunes from them. If you can find a chip somewhere, tuners will do chips cheaper. Look on ebay also, that's where I got my third chip for $100.
