To me it is not about Ron's shop methods, we all have our own pet proceduers and methods. If it works without causeing damage it was a good methodmaybe not the best but it worked.

My beef would be with asking Ron not to promote their product because he was not properly trained!!!????
If their own guys in their video were properly trained I am not shure I would want the training.
Those 2 morons barely knew which way was up. Nevermind the proper use of a tool.

The milwakee video looked like something my gran daughter would make, she is all of 10.

Yeah I'm with you on the Milwaukee issue. I just had to chime in because everyone loves Ron and I wanted to at least give my opinion on some stuff I saw,,, if I didn't mention them,,, then lurkers on here will think we all do it like he showed. I've changed a bunch of y pipes,, but I'm not sure if hitting the clamp even affects the joints. Just throwing my opinion out there. Hope you all aren't mad at me. We are a group that pays attention to details,,, and I was just keeping that trend.

We'r both still up I see.

I did not like the non torque wrench thing.
But when you are trained to work on aircraft
you just can't guess at it.

Sort of hard to pull over and park at 10,000 feet.

Was not meaning to find fault with your observations. There are things he does that to me are unnecessary to do the job also. Like bullit observed he removes a lot off stuff that is not really needed. Lol I have a lot of pet pieves of my own guess I really had no room to talk.

All is well and good.

I have got to get to bed.
BUT,
He did say that he was doing this one for the home type
DIY guys. Maybe that has something to do with extra part removal.

I use a long snap on push pin puller (about 2' long) with a little bend by the tip and it fits between the clamp and the flange and twist. The only thing that moves this way is the clamp. It works much better that the way I used to do it,, which was a 1 second hit with a cheap air hammer (I have a long barrel Mac one that is too strong).
How about when he used his hammer to pound out the oil cooler from the casting? Ouch, I kept waiting to see him miss and crack the housing. Nope, never did.

One more thing...kudos to his wife for helping out, filming probably for hours to get the final result.
She deserves some credit too.

That's funny b/c that is exactly what I was thinking. He found himself a gem. She deserves quite a bit of credit too.
