Oomph. I'm all shook up, but I'm not in love.

The front-end place put the top-of-the-line version of Gabriel shocks in Stinky. A few weeks later, one is leaking and needs to be replaced - and it is done. A few months later, my tires are meatballs with cupping.

Fast-forward to now - new tires are in, early tire wear is showing because of alignment, and I don't trust the shocks. I'm getting Bilsteins, but I need to know if I'm getting the right ones:

Bilstein 33-028187 for the front and 33-185347 for the rear. What say you?

Generals, Coopers, and Toyos - they all shred. Ball joints going in today. Any input on the shocks?

I've got Bilsteins on 2 of my trucks, the 02 and the 08. No complaints.

I think the 33-185347 rears are for a F350.
Unless you have F350 rear blocks they will be too long.

I put the picture back in... sorry. I added another one for more detail. Looking at the degree of twist on the shock mounts, I wonder if something hasn't already gone wrong in the back with all of the messing with the rear.

I think I found the right set of shocks [

], but I question that price.

Eshocks used to have the best price on Bilsteins, generally speaking.

Don't know if they're still a site sponsor or not, but they used to be.

The twist looks normal to me.

Clux,

IIRC the SRW F-350 has 4" blocks and the 4x4 F-250's have 2" blocks. Is this correct?

I believe so.

Shock warehouse in my link above has them listed for $297.00 for the 4600 bilstein shocks. They used to be a sponsor too, but I don't know anymore.

I got a stonking internet deal on the yellow Bilsteins a couple years ago, loved the ride! But they degraded quickly and I could not stand it after about 20k. Maybe they were knockoffs, maybe the real deal, I dunno. Assuming they were real I can't recommend them. Rancho adjustables now, like them a lot but less than 5k on them.

Had good results with Monroe Sensa-Tracs on other vehicles, FWIW.

i thought 4x4, needed the 5100 series shockes. The yellow 4600 is what im rock'n..(2wd).

Wanna say, F350-6 did an awesome writeup with shocks..etc, to the point, a manufacturer chimed in on the thread?
