91 ford e150 4.9l parts
Can any one help me on who to call on a water pump pulley for a 6/91 ford e-150 econoline 4.9L engine. I would like new but since ford discountinued it in 96 I know I may be asking too much. Mine is worn with and heavy groove and nick from too much play in water pump, replaced that but still have belt and pulley rubbing noise. any advice or leads would be great. Thanks for reading

Give us something to work with. What is the engineering number stamped on the pulley?

manf number

Belt came off today I see why, new belt took the rest of the grooves off the water pump pulley. The manufacturer number stamped on the pulley is E7TA-8509-EB

Thanks Little Ebby for the reply earlier

Have you run that engineering number past a FORD parts department to see if it's available on locator? Ask them to run it on locator. Note: some dealers only subscribe to one of the many locator services. So, be sure to run it past several FORD dealer parts departments.

Are you sure that's not "DB"? Yesterday I had my hands on a 1990 E150 with the 4.9. Water pump pulley stamped: E7TA-8509-DB. BTW: the backside of the serpentine belt drives the pulley; it doesn't have grooves like say the crankshaft pulley or the air conditioning compressor pulley. The surface of the pulley is intentionally smooth.

THX LITTLE EBBY

It is stamped E7TA-8509-EB, wow your right it does travel on back of belt(I feel so smart) I bought one via rear counter and found it in texas. Just received it yesterday thought I had the wrong part but it is 4 bolt large hole it looks like it and stamped e7ta-8509-eb . Production date on van is 6/1991. .I know there were two diameters difference was in thousands but read it on line. I am confused now and not sure where to double check info but I have part with same stamp number so I guess I will run with it. I will measure inside dia where belt rides when I get other on off. Thank you very much for not giving up on the newbie as you see that has a lot to learn! I have another question on belt tensioner assembly some are plastic murray brand and thats what is on and some like gates are metal. these are from advance, oreily's or auto zone. I want to replace mine as I have a slight play in pulley due to race on assbly is worn. Is it just a brand difference. they show both fitting my model.
thanks again for all your help it you every need help on automatic transmission parts thats my back ground cant fix them but sold parts for them for 28 years.Still know people on that one.

OEM was black plastic. Tensioner assembly still available from FORD (Motorcraft # BT32, $60). You can replace the pulley; you don't have to purchase the entire assembly. The old number in Motorcraft is YS180, ($15). The part number that replaced YS180 is $40. Some Motorcraft wholesalers still have the YS180 in stock.

thanks again little ebby

That makes me feel better about oe is black since that is what I received. Thanks for ford number on assembly. The race on assbly is worn on mine. I replaced the pulley only and it was the squeeler but still have too much back and forth play on pulley so race is worn. Thats why I am replacing it and new belt. Thanks for hanging in there with the all thumbs newbie. Hope I can help you one day.
Jack
